The flood gates are opening and if all goes well, we can expect a bumper 2022 for travel and tourism – well certainly when compared to 2020 and 2021.
Following almost 2 years of lockdowns, quarantine restrictions and tourism shutdowns across the world, the question remains, was it worth the pain and suffering?
There is the ever present saying, “health over wealth”, but do they know when to give people their life back?
Politicians have had their time of imposing lockdowns and talking to us like we were little children. Health professionals seemed to advise us one thing today and something different the next day. Who could keep up, or was it that they just couldn’t make up their minds?
Information about vaccinations was garbled at best – no wonder there is a proliferation of conspiracy theories circulating on the internet. I decided to get vaccinated but am yet to notice any changes from being controlled by the Chinese Communist party or by the micro-chip inserted interacting with the 5G tower nearby…😊
If nothing else, laughing at these conspiracy theorists gives you an overwhelming feeling of superiority. Some of these are gold and shows that some people obviously have too much time on their hands to create them. One of my favourites must be that the vaccine is satanic!
Politicians seem to have enjoyed keeping us in home detention or closing international and state borders, wherever they sit on the political spectrum. The political grandstanding, with or without the advice of “health officials”, may be the defining moment of their political careers. Many have spent money we don’t have, to help out their big business mates, whilst some have helped the little guy trying to feed their families. Times like these brings out the best and worst in people and can give an insight into their real motivation to be in office.
Soon we will have to learn to live with COVID-19, probably adding an annual jab to go alongside the flu shot, so we can go back to a relatively normal life.
While life may not be the same in future, it will be good to get back some normality and feel human and in charge of our lives again. In years to come we might also find out what really happened and how the Coronavirus was created, if we can then cut through all those conspiracy theories once more…
